We have been the premiere martial arts academy in the Rocky Mt. region for over two decades, providing the highest quality instruction available anywhere. We have children's, adult and family programs available to fit any student’s needs from traditional martial arts, realistic self-defense, fitness and strength training, to kickboxing and MMA. Kyoshi Baier is a skilled competitive fighter, but he's got a rare gift with kids too! He is patient and very positive. A student never leaves discouraged; there's always a vote of confidence that technique will come with practice. My daughter started in 1st grade and would not have stayed without the fabulous female advanced belt role models there.
Mr. Baier is very encouraging and does not use any kind of shame or harsh criticism, but instead keeps them engaged with humor and support. My kids don't tend towards being athletic but I think they have surprised themselves with what they have learned and accomplished. ABMA is a great community where the upper belts are looking out for the under belts.

Mark Baier
Kyoshi
Kyoshi Mark Baier, 8th degree Black Belt, Multiple World Champion in karate and kickboxing, and founder and Chief Master Intructor at America's Best Martial Arts, began his life-long passion for the martial arts at 13 years old. By the time he was 18 he was already a martial artist and instructor of renown. At age 23 Kyoshi Baier officially became the sensei and owner/instructor of his own dojo. After training and traveling with the best in the world of Full Contact Karate/Kickboxing, including World Champions, Clarence Thatch and Duane "BANG" Ludwig, and studying jiujitsu under Amal Easton - a black belt under the legendary Renzo Gracie, he began to dedicate his energy, skill and knowledge to become a more effective teacher. Now, at America's Best he combines the strengths of each art that he has studied, blends them with proven success principles designed to influence the students' attitude, behavior and character.
Duncan Williams
Renshi
Renshi Duncan Williams is a 3rd degree with 14 years' experience in the martial arts. He has a gift for connecting one-on-one with students who are struggling with some area of their curriculum, Mr. Williams is a father of two little girls who often get to watch their Daddy in class.
Patrick Padia
Renshi
Renshi Patrick Padia is a 4th degree Black Belt. He started in Taekwondo at age 6. After that he studied Chinese Kenpo, studied Kuntao Silat DeThouras from Grandmaster Willem DeThouars, and has been at ABMA for 10 years. He excels in teaching self-defense and likes introducing traditional martial arts in his classes. He was given the nickname "Dbol" in the Gracie BJJ classes.
Susan Jacobsen
Renshi
Susan began her journey in the martial arts at age 59, and now at age 72 is still motivated, dedicated, and passionate about sharing her love for the martial arts/karate to everyone, especially older people. She looks forward to starting teaching at the dojo again. She is retired and has been married to her husband Pete for 49 years.
Rene Beltran
Renshi
Renshi Rene Beltran is a 4th degree Black Belt who has been practicing martial arts for 18 years. He has numerous state and regional titles in point fighting, several kickboxing fights with a 6-1 record. He trained for a time at American Top Team, and a short time training with Duane Ludwig at Bang Muay Thai.
Brooklyn O'Laughlin
Sensei
Sensei Brooklyn O'Laughlin, 3rd degree black belt: I started karate when I was 6 and never looked back. I got my 1st degree black belt when I was 10 years old and started teaching shortly after that. I love teaching and interacting with students.
